Yes. Audio Radar connects via HDMI and works with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. For best results, set your system to output 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound where available.

Audio Radar reacts to whatever audio your game sends to your speakers, so it works with virtually every game. Games with strong surround sound (Call of Duty, PUBG, Warzone, Rust, Hunt: Showdown, Tarkov, R6: Siege, Valorant, CS2, Fortnite) produce the most accurate directional cues. Stereo-only games still work, but direction is limited to left/right.

Audio Radar works with virtually all gaming monitors and TVs, from ~24″ up to 65″+. For ultra-thin monitors (OLED, mini-LED, anything under 1″ thick), we recommend adding the L-Bracket Kit for a secure mount.

No, but it helps. Audio Radar can detect direction from any source that includes spatial information — stereo, 5.1, or 7.1. Setting your console or PC to 7.1 surround output over HDMI gives the most precise directional cues. If your game only outputs stereo, you’ll still see audio activity, but direction will be limited.

Yes — this is one of the most common questions. On console, plug your headset in as normal and Audio Radar still receives game audio through HDMI. On PC, you can run Audio Radar and your headset together using third-party audio-routing software (we provide step-by-step setup guides in our help center). A dedicated Audio Radar desktop app launching summer 2026 will make this seamless — no third-party tools required.

There’s one important caveat to know before you buy: PS5 typically sends full game audio to only one output at a time. If your PS5 sends game audio to a wireless headset, it may stop sending audio over HDMI — which Audio Radar needs. Most customers solve this by setting the PS5 to send game audio via HDMI and chat audio to the headset, or by using an HDMI audio extractor, optical-input headset base, or a headset like the Astro A50X that supports HDMI passthrough. Yes. Current Audio Radar hardware continues to receive supported software updates. We’re launching our dedicated Audio Radar desktop app in summer 2026 that will deliver advanced PC controls and seamless audio routing. Some upcoming platform features will work on existing hardware, while others (like AI sound classification, currently in development) may require new hardware. We don’t recommend waiting — Audio Radar today already delivers the core “see the sound” experience customers love.
